## EntityHandling enum


Specifies how the [XmlTextReader](../xmltextreader/) or [XmlValidatingReader](../xmlvalidatingreader/) handle entities.

### Values

| Name | Value | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| ExpandEntities | 1 | Expands all entities and returns the expanded nodes. |
| ExpandCharEntities | 2 | Expands character entities and returns general entities as [XmlNodeType::EntityReference](../xmlnodetype/) nodes. |
