## XmlDocument::get_DocumentElement method


Returns the root [XmlElement](../../xmlelement/) for the document.

SharedPtr<XmlElement> System::Xml::XmlDocument::get_DocumentElement()
```


### ReturnValue

The [XmlElement](../../xmlelement/) that represents the root of the XML document tree. If no root exists, **nullptr** is returned.
