GetAncestor

GetAncestor(Type)

Gets the first ancestor of the specified object type.

public CompositeNode GetAncestor(Type ancestorType)
ParameterTypeDescription
ancestorTypeTypeThe object type of the ancestor to retrieve.

Return Value

The ancestor of the specified type or null if no ancestor of this type was found.

Remarks

The ancestor type matches if it is equal to ancestorType or derived from ancestorType.

Examples

Shows how to find out if a tables are nested.

{
    Document doc = new Document(MyDir + "Nested tables.docx");
    NodeCollection tables = doc.GetChildNodes(NodeType.Table, true);

        int count = GetChildTableCount(table);
        Console.WriteLine("Table #{0} has {1} tables directly within its cells", i, count);
